Colin: The Man Who Can Fix Anything

Meet Colin, the man who can fix anything. From Cisco routers to power supplies, his in-house repairs save time, money and hassle keeping hardware in top shape.

Colin: The Man Who Can Fix Anything

We always say, “Colin can fix anything” and the thing is, it’s actually true.

Whether it’s a puncture on his motorbike while touring Finland, a faulty heating system, a damaged port on a Cisco router, or even a dented structural chassis on a switch that just arrived this morning, Colin has a knack for making things right.

The Accidental Repair Genius

Like many good things in life, our need for an in-house repair specialist happened by accident. We got tired of sending mildly faulty equipment back to suppliers, only to wait weeks for something that, in reality, just needed a quick fix.

So, what started as knowing a guy who’s handy with repairs quickly turned into a key part of our business.

Now, whenever something arrives with a bit of damage maybe a scratch in a place that can’t be resprayed, a Cisco camera speaker gauze that needs cleaning, or even a missing screw barrel in a router Colin sorts it out. If we couldn’t repair these things in-house, we’d just be staring at two wasted shipping costs and a whole lot of frustration.

Fixing Saves Time, Money, and Headaches

There isn’t a single day when Colin doesn’t have something to fix whether it’s a broken power supply handle or a Cisco air filter that needs straightening. When you’ve got someone with his old-school engineering mindset, you quickly realise:

1. There’s always a solution.
2. Your first idea is rarely the best one.
3. You’ll probably learn something new in the process.

His experience has even rubbed off on the rest of the team so much so that even our competitors have unknowingly benefitted. We’ve done repairs for trading partners without even telling them there was an issue we just fix it and move on.

Sometimes, it’s better to spend your time elsewhere and just get on with the job.
